Answers to commonly asked questions.
Do I have to pay extra to be on a project?
No! Your monthly membership covers all costs. We do not charge extra for the individual projects. Sign up for as many projects as you want. We do charge a much reduced fee for 1:1 coaching with any of our coaching staff.
Do I Need Equipment?
Equipment is not required for membership. However, you will want an adequate microphone, mic stand, computer (no Chromebook or tablets), and studio headphones to participate in projects. Depending on the type of mic you may need additional equipment. Your creative directors will guide you prior to you making any purchases.
Will I get paid for the project work I do?
Maybe. The projects sponsored that have the financial support for the actors then yes, actors will be compensated. If the project is an AVA in-house production then no compensation will be available. The benefit of participating in non-sponsored projects is you still get a tangible audio clip of your work that is broadcast ready and professionally produced. You have a quality recording you can share with family, friends and potential employers.
How can I participate if I am shy about being on camera and performing?
You will never be asked to turn on your camera or be called on to participate. You decide when and how you will participate. There is plenty of time for you to observe and engage when you are ready. Over time, our members realize that it is really safe and fun to participate and to receive the positive feedback from the creative directors and your peers!
